Catch & Release

Respect for the Fish. Respect for the Ocean.

In the waters off northern Madagascar, we target some of the world's strongest and most hard-fighting game fish. Giant Trevally, Blue Marlin, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and other powerful predators represent the pinnacle of sport fishing. That's exactly why we believe they deserve more than ending up in a photograph—or on a dinner plate.

Our philosophy is simple: Catch & Release — catch the fish, document the moment, and return it safely to the ocean.

This isn't just a trend. It's the only way to preserve this extraordinary fishery for generations to come. Large trophy fish play an irreplaceable role in the marine ecosystem and are often the strongest breeding individuals in their populations. Releasing them helps maintain healthy fish stocks and gives future anglers the chance to experience the same unforgettable fight.

A Trophy Isn't a Fish on the Wall

The true trophy isn't the fish itself.

It's the experience, the emotion, the battle with the ocean, and the photograph that will forever remind you of the day you landed the fish of a lifetime.

To us, watching a marlin or a Giant Trevally powerfully disappear back into the deep blue is far more rewarding than seeing it lying motionless on the deck.

Responsible Fish Handling Comes First

During every expedition, we do everything possible to ensure each fish is released in the best possible condition.

We follow responsible catch-and-release practices by:

  • minimizing fight time,

  • using high-quality, properly matched tackle,

  • handling every fish with the utmost care,

  • keeping photography quick and safe,

  • releasing the fish only when it has fully recovered and is ready to swim away on its own.

Every fish deserves the same respect, regardless of its size.

The Ocean Gives Us More Than We Realize

Northern Madagascar remains one of the last places on Earth where truly wild sport fishing can still be experienced.

If we want it to remain that way ten or twenty years from now, we must treat the ocean responsibly.

We believe the best approach is to fish with respect—not with the goal of taking as much as possible.

Not Everything Is Released

Our Catch & Release policy applies primarily to all trophy species.

From time to time, we keep smaller, more common fish to prepare fresh meals for our guests or for the local kitchen. However, we never harvest fish unnecessarily and only keep what we genuinely intend to use.

We believe this is what modern sport fishing should look like—guided by respect for nature, respect for the fish, and respect for future generations of anglers.

Because the most unforgettable moment isn't when you pull a fish from the sea.

It's when, with one powerful sweep of its tail, it disappears back into the depths—and you know that one day, it may give another angler the fight of a lifetime.
